Blog 8: Stacked connections
Need a higher up-time or what if the Internet needs to be even faster?
Business Internet connections based on 4G and 5G connection are full-fledged competitors to other high-speed business Internet connections such as Coax and Fiber. 4G/5G internet also offers additional advantages such as fast delivery time, no single point of failure because the ground cable breaks and, abroad, a multi-operator strategy (More on that in a future blog).
Link stacking increases the speed of total connection. For example: A single connection has a speed of 100Mbps/40Mbps. However, the user needs more speed, namely at least 300Mbps/100Mbps.
The solution in this case is that we take 4 connections. Each connection is aligned to a different transmission tower in order to distribute the load per transmission tower. Ideally, the connection will then have a speed of 400Mbps/160Mbps. Because of the overhead, a bit of speed will be needed for managing the connection but the required speed will be more than met.
Because the connection are aligned to multiple transmission towers, the up-time of the stacked connection increases to about 99.8%
In doing so, it still remains possible to provide fixed public ip addresses on the stacked connection.
